You can easily spend a couple of hours, a day or a weekend in Port Burwell. This village/town lies on the coast of Lake Erie. Personally, my plan was to explore the area with no set limitation on time.
We started off entering one of the main streets of Port Burwell which leads to the beach area. Though this particular public beach is not one of the best within the area, it still offers a place to catch sometime under the sun and take a quick dip in the lake. It also offers a Port if you wish to take a boat fishing or a leisurely day out on the water. Walking done the Port docks provide a good view of the lake and provide some feedback to it's size. You can definitely not see the other side of this lake.
Once we took in the views of the lake and had our fill of the beach area, we make our way down the main street of the town.
A short distance from the beach offers an old lighthouse for viewing. This lighthouse has since been converted to a museum with an admission charge of three dollars. Being that we weren't very interested in it, we decided to pass on this opportunity. We did however collect some maps of the area. Across the street from the lighthouse, there is also another museum. This museum is called the Port Burwell Marine museum.

After or short visit within the town, we made our way to Port Burwell Park (Provincial Park). This was our main focus for venturing out from the bigger city of London. The entrance fee to this provincial park is 13$ per car load. Depending on your reasoning for the visit, this can be a good deal or a little over priced for what it has to offer.

Personally, we were only there to explore the area, mainly it's hiking/walking path, so it was a little overpriced. There was only one hiking/walking path within the park grounds and didn't necessarily have much to offer with regards to photo-opps. A lot of the same, basically trees and bush. Some areas even looked a little dried out from the heat and lack of rain we have been experiencing in the area. One of the funniest things about the whole days adventure, was seeing a no wheelchair zone. I'm not sure why they put that up. Personally, I don't think I would even dare to attempted to go through a wooded area (no pavement or rock walkway), but I guess to each is own.

The beach area is absolutely beautiful with white, flawless sand. It was also considerably less crowded because of the entrance fee. That being said, I think if you had a car load of friends, and an itch for a day at the beach, consider this beach. It is one of the nicer beach I have seen in the area so far.

There is also the opportunity for camping; however, we did not participate.

Overall, I think it was an nice day of exploring. More so because of company as opposed to what it had to offer. We were a little displeased hiking path; however, I have now found a great place to spend a day at the beach!
