At the zoo

On the fourth day the weather was not that nice as the days before, so we decided not to go to the beach as we planned, but to see the zoo in Parc de la Ciutadella, named Parc Zoològic de Barcelona. It's a nice zoo, maybe a bit dated, but fun anyway. On the way back to our apartment we walked through the park (yet again!) and when we arrived at the Ramblas, we went up the Monument à Colon. At first we thought we couldn't visited it and that it was just a statue. But in one of our travel books it was stated that somewhere hidden in the monument is an entrance where you can buy a ticket to go upstairs. We were very curious about it, so we started looking. We went around the monument for two times before we found the entrance. The ticket was about 2 euros per person and a tiny elevator brought us upstairs, where we could oversee a part of Barcelona.

The next day we went shopping, a pastime we all enjoy. At the end of the afternoon we visited Parc del Laberint. It's a park outside the city center which is in fact a large labyrinth. I guess it's more an activity for younger children, but we thought it would be a nice outing.
