Well, that date seemed never want to come....
I bought tickets for the concert in december 2008 and has been a long long wait, but the day arrived!
Me and "Tacho" (my best friend and travel companion) flew to Stockholm from Roma with Ryanair and it was pretty nice to have a short bus trip in the surroundig between the airport and the city. Unfortunately we found exactly what we wanted to avoid......rain and cold. We left Roma with 25°c and landed in Sweden with 12°c; it was a shock....we weren't prepared to this, so first thing we did it was to enter in H&M and buy a couple of jackets!
Stockholm was wonderful as usually, even with rain. I use to visit Stockholm once a year and all the time it seems she smile to me.
The concert was for the day after, so we had a day available to visit the city. But Surprise Surprise that day was the NATIONAL DAY in Sweden.... So we were lucky despite the rain. We have seen the royal parade, royal family crossing the city on a old coach. Funny. But another event was planned in Stockholm that day: Sweden-Denmark, qualifying match for South Africa 2010 (result 1-2). This was really funny. A lot of crazy people, both swedish and danish, singing and drinking all around the city. We were worring a little because we know they don't love so much one eachother, but they were really peaceful. They just wanted to have fun. And, I swear, they had.
The city was really full of any kind of people. People from all over Europe for the concert, people from Denmar and swedish from all the country fro the match. Wow, alot of energy and excitemet all around.
In the evening we walked outside the Grand Hotel hoping to meet the Boss. Nothing, we just met some E-Street member. It was enough anyway. Bruce was strangely closed in the hotel for all the day.
In the night we had dinner in my favourite restaurant in Stockholm: the HOTELLET (http://www.hotellet.info/). Not cheap, but good food, good wine, nice people and after dinner become a very very nice disco-bar.
The day after we visited the Modern art museum, Moderna Museet (http://www.modernamuseet.se/sv/Stockholm/). Interesting. It took all morning so, very hungry, we had lunch in a pizzeria on the way for the stadium.
At 4:00 pm, finally, we were out of Stockholm Stadion. Weather was perfect. But, what happens??? A long long cue of people waiting outside. Can't belive....only one gate open for the entrance. Not tipically swedish, I have to say! After one hour of cue we were in, very excited.
The concert will start in around three hours. But this is another story.....
