Today, much of the day was spent at the beach with a little bit of sight seeing in the city center. Laying on the beach, I began to understand why this place is called rocky point . . . the Roooocks Oh my God, ridiculous. We had agreed the night before to join the group at the house for breakfast/lunch at about 11:00 or noon (whichever came last). It was close to 12 noon before Mark and I, arrived at the beach residence only to find everyone had gone to the beach. We walked down to the beach where we spotted the group after a few minutes of looking. There were a few people out at the beach, mostly foreigners and a few locals. The sea was calm with a few waves washing to the shore, just enough to topple one of the air filled rafts.
We took some time out to sea, but it was hard to walk far enough to find deeper waters.
I particularly felt challenged as I could not walk on the rocks at the bottom of the water. Now this was not even far from the sand on the shores, but two of my friends literally got hurt a few feet off the sand. I dared not tempt the rocks at the bottom of the water, I sat close enough to get water splashing over me when the waves made it as far as where I was. We whiled away in the water until the sun sent us back under our beach umbrellas. There was a cool breeze blowing which made time under the shade quite calming. People watching became interesting as we indulged in gossip (the girls) and the boys did their thing. It was a little after 2:00 pm when most of the party decided they had enough of the beach. Off to the house for some refreshments and music. Fun, fun, fun!
