Curral das Freiras. Thanks to the sunflower hiking and touring guide, we drove without problem to Eira do Serrado. This was a point of view which was incredible. We parked the car over here, walked to the official view point and enjoyed the depth. Again, we were surrounded by other tourists. We went back to the parking and bought our lunch (cookies and water) for our descend. It took 1 1/2 hour to get to the village itself. Every minute was great. Walking through a chestnut forest.

In Curral itself, we were invited by 4 or 5 different restaurants that served all the same. Chestnut cake, chestnut soup, chestnut liquor and other chestnut stuff. After getting some cash by an ATM we walked back to the restaurant closest to the bus stop. Ok, let's try the chestnut soup and cake. Not bad, but it will never be a world wide hit. Sabine was suprised by the offer to taste some different liquors and then we went back to our car with the bus. What a joy. Driving like a idiot, this most be the way to survive as a busdriver. Nevertheless, after a wild drive, we got back to our car. Satisfied. And... back in Arco we had time enough to hang out by the pool. Nice.
