Journey to Berlin

Today was the big day! We left the school at 8:10 and had a long boring bus journey with lots of sleep.Finally we arrived in Berlin around 16:00.
After a short break we could enter our rooms in the Jugendgästehaus Central.I had the "luck" to stay in a 12-bed-room with 7 other guys. The room was not very exciting but okay.
Dinner was at 18:00 and to be honest it wasn't very tasty.It was pork cutlet but it was very thin and not good.
Later we decided to go to the nearest McDonalds at the Zoologische Garten train-station.After our "second" dinner there we went for a walk along the Kurfürstendamm with our "guide" Nico who has been in Berlin 3 times before.He showed us all the famous sites near the Kurfüstendamm - for example the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche, the shop Niketown, the very famous (and expensive) KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens),the Hard Rock Cafe Berlin etc...
Finally we went into an Irish Pub near the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche, had a delicious Guinness and enjoyed the music of the live band.
Altogether it was a nice first day in Berlin even if the journey there was long and exhausting.
