I woke up this morning comfortably. My first flight is at ten in the morning locally. I managed a warm cup of coffee with my lovely and saw the boys before they were off to school. I had picked up some new drawing pads for them and gave it to them this morning with the understanding that I want to see some pictures upon my return describing their week. This is not a foreign concept but more of a mutual understanding. To date, they love art and music so I guess my influence is working. I told them that I would do the same.
This time, I brought my mini laptop along with my work laptop in order to more easily facilitate blogs and also attempt to manage photos. I would rather not keep that personal stuff on my work laptop. I also set up a flickr account to help manuever the photos easier. We'll see how this works or if it becomes too much of a hassle.
Omaha's airport is small and I travel often enough that I recognize and greet the security staff and kiosk staff by name. That is more true for the kiosk staff. The security staff seems to have a higher degree of turnover. No lines at check in, two persons deep at the security check, no line for the kiosk and 80% available seating at the kiosk. I was able to pick which table near a power outlet that I wanted. I chose the one with a good view at the large flatscreen (which I have yet to look at.....just did). This is the way I like to start my travels. I know full well this won't be the case elsewhere today.
