By car again

Because we thought it too much to pay parking money for 3 cars, Jos parked his car in Monnickendam, and getting 5 people in 2 cars we crossed the dike towards Marken.
Here we walked by the old picturesque "buurten" towards Havenbuurt where we had lunch at the Taanderij. Now that the tourist-season has fully started this place was, unlike the last time we were here, very crowded. So before we finally could order we had time to look around to what other people were eating, and adjusted our order to what we saw on their plates.
After our lunch we set of to walk around "buurten" and towards Kerkbuurt. Although it was Sunday the church was closed for public...
From Kerkbuurt we could see Rozenwerf, near the southcoast of the island, and I could see a small road across the fields leading towards it, so we went that way. It turned out that my eyes were tricking us, for the road did not lead the entire way, but at some point turned back to the car parking.
Then, was it Keiko?, wanted to go to the lighthouse, which was visible at the distance, and after a bit of persuading (the guys foresaw it would take us much longer than Keiko and I assumed), we headed east to the "Marken horse", as the lighthouse is called, to see if we could make it in half an hour.
And I have to admit, the guys were right; we were indeed (ofcourse) closer, but not yet there, no way....
As promised, after that half hour we headed back again to the village center and the car park.
While Jos got into his own car again at Monnickendam, the three of us (John, Keiko, and I) went for a short visit to picturesque Broek in Waterland (more pictures of this lovely village are in my "Marsh area"-blog), before I took them to the ferry at Amsterdam.
All in all, it was a nice day: Nice company, nice places to visit, nice weather.
