From A87, near the Uig hotel, take the side road which leads to Scheader. After passing a couple of houses, taking the left sided track, Fairy Glen should come into view. There are some grassy type areas to park your vehicle so that you can explore the area.
Fairy Glen was very pretty but not what I had expected. When I did a little research online, I think I might have looked at the wrong reference point because I thought it was more of a walking trail as opposed to an open area or field that you could walk in. Either way, I did enjoy it.
While walking around the fields, you came upon a couple of dozen grazing sheep. One sheep in particular, a think it was a new born or something, was really cute. I stated that I think it was a newborn because it looked like it still had it's umbilical cord attachment. He/she was so cute though because it was crying to find it's mom; however, no mother was coming to claim her baby. So the sheep came running around all of us trying to see if we were it's mother. The baby sheep came so close to me that it was about a foot away from me! Hopefully at some point the baby sheep found it's mom!
Overall, I would recommend that if you are in the Uig area, that you go and have a walk around this area. Its hills offer a great view throughout the area and it's pretty neat to come so close to the animals. There are also various pretty waterfalls to get some great pics.
