The vehicle of travel in the US

The Montezuma Castle National Monument is located South of Flagstaff, AZ off the highway.  The total time it takes to see everything at the Monument is an hour, not much but the actual couple of buildings to see.  Admission into the Monument I believe was $5.00 per person, however, I have a National Parks Annual Pass so it was free for the family.  As a side note, that Annual pass is worth all $80.00 for a one time fee if your going to a couple National Parks in a year.  With the Africancrab we've gone to several in the last few months.

That said however, it was a very interesting hour as you get a chance to see how this small community lived in an area that was not overly friendly and they subsequently built their housing in the cliff side.  There is a show put on by the Rangers a few times a day that was entertaining but was more about the wildlife in the area then on the people that lived there.  Mostly it seems that since it's not certain who exactly was living in the cliff houses at the time, the information is limited.  A lot of guess work.

A worthy side adventure for a break from driving, but not necessarily a trip worth planning by itself.
