The most remote place at Cleopatra beach

According to tradition, when the roman emperor Marc Antonius had to choose a proper wedding gift for his beloved Cleopatra, the queen who had everything already, he had to choose something very special and extraordinary beautiful. He choosed the grounds of Alanya, Turkey.

No wonder I have returned to this place over and over again. Damlatas beach on the west side of the castle has been named also to the Cleopatra beach, according to this tradition. When coming out from the airport in Antalya, now I have get used to have my package-meal prepared as well as cold water. It takes its two hours ride in a bus before you reach a hotel in Alanya.

Pre season at the beach
The bus stops after an hour at a gas-station with a small shop and café, that is a typical tourist-trap. The prices are cheeky high and the people in there tend to be almost rude.

This time I stayed at Yeni Acun and got a nice two bedroom apartment for my private use. The first twenty-four hours I hardly leaved the hotel recovering an extreme tough work situation during the last spring. It was so good just to relax knowing how everything was out there. Later I was chasing a good tailor or a mens clothing with a good collection, looking for a new black suite. I got it and I also got a second one, plus 4 very smart shirts and a bunch of ties, not talking of all the rest of clothing I bought. Well, it was some presents for my family as well. Think I ve already told you in anohter blog, that it s very economic bying men s clothing down here. Although, it is copies, they have very good coipies that last for long.

Walkiing tours in the cities I visit is a must to discover buildings, cafés and just stroll around zipping the atmosphere. Alanya has built a new beach-walking path by the water front that is very pleasant. It took me half hour to walk into the city but it was very good.

One of those days I made a walk up to the castle, and the best time for it is late afternoon, because of the sun. It takes you almost an hour to walk up there, and another 45 minutes downways.  The castle up at the hill is the real landmark for the town.
