We arrived to our hostel in Cork Ireland and was staying in what seemed like a jail cell. But we were travleing on a budget so we can't complain. It was very dark and there were multiple people snoring loud so it was quite difficult to get ready for bed.
We took a bus to Blarney, Ireland which is only about 20 minutes by bus to visit the Blarney Castle. It is a beautiful area and if you love photography, you'll love this place. You can walk throughout almost the whole castle. At the top there is a stone which you lean over backward and kiss, the Blarney stone. By kissing it you receive the gift of gab.
There is also a nice area around the castle you can explore with druid caves, rock gardens, and other interesting things.
After spending a few hours we caught the bus back to Cork to explore the city. They have a great main street area with lots of shops, fun to walk around.
That night we caught up on writing post cards, journals, and hanging out with a guy from our room. His name is Andre and he was from Russia who moved to Ireland to get a job..... he didn't know any english and was living permanently in the hostel! He had a little notebook and russian to english dictionary. He somehow communicated he couldn't get a job because he didn't know enough english, that he was fired. So we taught him what we could... he would point to something we would say what it was and he would scribble into his little note book the russian word, we spelt it in english, the he wrote how to pronounce it using russian sounds. It was a fun experience and my friend Ryan still gets occasional emails from him.
