I'm really happy to be back in Hong Kong, one of my favorite cities in the world! I'm always happy to be in such a nice city, but this time it's different:
It's only been a few days since the european airspace was closed because of that Volcano situation in Iceland. My flight on tuesday was cancelled, so I had to re-book my ticket.
When I first re-booked, nobody knew when flights are back to normal, so I got a ticket for saturday - that is, today's saturday! So I wouldn't even be here in HK yet!
Luckily, I was able to get on an earlier flight on thursday :-)
That's why I'm sooo happy to be here today!
I didn't even make big plans for today.
For this trip I bought a new tripod for my camera, a Slik Pro. Really nice and lightweight travel tripod. As it was such a nice sunny day, I went to Nan Liang Garden near Diamond Hill MTR station. I really loved that waterfall with the restaurant behind, so I wanted to take better photos using the tripod.
After getting there, I unpacked my super-duper new tripod and was about to set up my camera, when a security guard approached me and said "Sir, according to our garden rules, no tripods please!" Aaaaargh! Dude, this tripod travelled 5500 miles just to take nice long exposure pictures of that waterfall! That's what I thought, of course I didn't argue with that guy in uniform ...
Whatever... tripod or not, this garden is very nice!
Later that evening I had the chance to use my tripod to take some nice photos at Kowloon public pier.
After taking a bunch of pictures - and seeing the light show for the first time! - I met TB Erica to have some drinks at the iSquare mall on Nathan Road.
'nuff for today! Back to the Butterfly, get some sleep! :-)
