Remember April 2010? The eruption of that volcano with the unspeakable name Eyjafjallajökull in Iceland?
Guess who's flight was canceled because of that! That's right, mine! Grrrr! :P
Funny thing, when I left the office on friday, I met a friend on the parking lot and told her I'm going to Hong Kong on tuesday. She answered "Good luck with that, but probably your flight gets canceled anyway!". At that time, I didn't know what she was talking about, since I have no TV or newspaper and didn't know yet about that volcano!
So when at home, I checked the news on the internet, and voila... Volcano eruption in Iceland responsible for breakdown of air travel in Europe! Sigh! :(
I was hoping that the ash cloud would be gone by tuesday and they opened the european airports - or at least Frankfurt International Airport - by then.
Luckily, they opened the airport at Wednesday morning at 9 am, and since I was at home, I heard the news on the radio and immediately called the airline hotline. They were able to put me on a flight the next day, Thursday! Yay! So I only lost two days of my 12 day trip! :)
Soooooooo.... here I am, Hong Kong! Again! Haha!!! :)
It was a long day, because I had to transfer in Doha in the middle of the night, so I'm kinda tired. I'm happy that my friend Chispa, who worked at a bank near my hotel in TST, was able to meet up with me after her work. We had dinner at a nice Asian restaurant on Prat Ave.
I can't tell you how relieved I was the evening! :)
