After a much needed long sleep I woke up to find Hutch still out for the count along with most of the hostel dorm. The Fulir Hostel was our first proper hostel on the trip so we were keen to meet some like minded people. Didn't think it would be too hard as the dorm was at full capacity.
Hutch woke up and we headed down to the lounge for some good banter with the hostel guys. Really starting to envy them, as they seem to have the perfect job! Gets Hutch and I thinking about how cool it would be to run a hostel ourselves.
It was too late for any breakfast so we grabbed a toasted chicken sandwich for lunch and began our sightseeing for the day. Our first stop was the Zagreb Cathedral which was spectacular inside but unfortunately the exterior was undergoing building work so couldn't get any photos.
We watched the Czech Rep game against U.S.A before going for a drink with a couple of London lads, Dave and Ben. They were making their way round Europe in the opposite direction from us at the time. As the dark ale flowed, the topic of conversation never really swayed to far from Peep Show, Family Guy, Shaun Of The Dead and of course Europe. It just seemed we were all very much on the same wavelength and I guess the dark ale helped!
Time passes far too quick when the going is good and night arrived. After a quick stop off for a Jalapeno Fajita sandwich, we hit the sack. Croatia were playing Brazil the next day so we anticipated a hectic day.
