After struggling to get a decent night's sleep due to the heat, we overslept and subsequently missed breakfast. An ice cold shower made me feel a little better, as did knowing that we would be visiting the Anne Frank museum today. We grabbed a McDonald's breakfast on our way to the museum, but when we arrived we were dismayed as the queues were unreal. There was no way we could bear standing in line for so long in this heat.

A quick regroup later and we decided to take a boat trip, which would weave through the canals of Amsterdam. We boarded a decent sized boat, which offered some shelter from the sun and set sail when the vessel was fully loaded. The trip itself was fairly pleasant and the tour guide explained our surroundings well, but we were glad when it did finish as everything soon became very similar.

The afternoon was spent wandering around the city centre, giving us plenty of photo and people watching opportunities. This really was our favourite past time in Amsterdam. Following on from that, we stationed ourselves in the Doors coffee shop for the afternoon, playing cards as usual and discussing our past travels with Niki. Time almost stood still at the coffee shop and we soon found that it was well into the evening and so we headed back to the hostel, but not before filling our bellies with 2 portions of French fries first!
