The Euro trip partnership was to take a new dynamic today, with the arrival of Dave's girlfriend, Niki. First we had to check out of our hotel, which wasn't difficult considering the place was less than abysmal! We did get a decent night's sleep though surprisingly, despite the heat and our frustrations. A cheese toasty was quickly wolfed down and we made our way to the Amstel bus station.

This proved to be a massive mission, as we struggled to find the station. Luckily we had learned from our previous mistakes and gave ourselves plenty of time. We eventually arrived, just as Niki was arriving and the duo became a trio. A familiar face was really nice to see, especially for Dave. Niki had organised our accommodation for the next 2 nights, and managed to get us a great little room at the My Home hostel.

Here we encountered a very colourful group of people, most notably, the American surfer/stoner who played chess against himself all day whilst constantly smoking. He literally looked like he belonged here like the rest of the furniture! Niki had a long bus journey and we were also tired, so a nap was the order of the day. But not before some lunch. How Rock n' Roll!

That afternoon we spent the afternoon in 2 very very different museums. First up was the Torture museum, which was gruesome and interesting with equal measure. Next up was the Tulip museum, which I personally didn't find interesting at all, while I think Niki might have. Visiting the museums was great though, as we managed to escape the sun.

We introduced Niki to the delights of Wok and Go noodle for dinner and saw out the night in a coffee shop, playing cards and watching the Italy Vs Germany game. No beers tonight though, as the chocolate milk was flowing!
