The night before was a very heavy session. By far the heaviest of the trip. Luckily I wasn't hungover, I was still drunk. We gathered our things together and stuffed them into our bags before making a mad dash to the train station. It was roasting hot as usual and with heavy backpacks on it was uncomfortable to say the least.

Our train ride was great though, as it arrived in Bratislava and was therefore, the shortest of the trip. We arrived at the Downtown Backpackers in search of a bed for 3 nights but they could only offer us one night. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise though, as the hostel was terrible. The staff were unhelpful, the toilet doors didn't lock, there were no towels or toilet roll and no overall organisation.

We did what we usually do for the first day in a new place, and just wandered the streets and got a feel for the city. As ever, the women were fantastic and there were plenty in Bratislava. After a good walk around the city, we found a nice Mexcian restaurant on a small cobbled street for dinner. We sat outside and enjoyed people watching in the evening sun and good food as well.

Last nights escapades began to catch up with us and so we opted for a quiet, early night in preparation for an abundance of sightseeing the next day.
