The end of a really long day on the road

On up the hill to the with the chains just on we were held up for hours due to accidents further up.

Going up we had seen lots of "monkeys" putting chains on the vehicles,  but past the top and coming down the other side there wasn't one to help.  We kept looking for someone to help, but mile after mile went by and not one person to help.  We were starting to get passed by every car on the road, because they had all removed their chains and were doing the speed limit while we were still holding it to 25 to 30 mph.  So we finally pulled off and my wife and I struggled to get them back off.  That was something to see, two old foggies doing something like that for the first time.  It must have taken us a good half hour.

When we finally got to Reno and checked into out hotel, the Grand Sierra Resort, it was just almost 9 p.m.  That's a Loooong day!  Just about 12 hours from the time we left home.

But we did make it in one piece and the car made it through fine!!

Andrew hates having to put chains on! We have seen someone driving on the normal roads with their chains still on!!!
