This cloud created havoc across three counties this afternoon.

But after leaving Jamestown and heading west once again we hit storm.  This one was creating havoc in three counties including the ones we had just passed through.

A tornado touched down just behind us, probably less than twenty minutes after we left Jamestown.  And the rain and hail was tremendous for about twenty minutes and required us to slow to near crawling speed of 25 or 30 miles an hour.  But then just as quick as it came on we emerged from the west side of it and never had rain again all the rest of the day.  We stopped in a reststop and noted that the wind was tremedous. Probably above 50 mph with gusts much greater.  That lasted the rest of the day.

In Bismarck we stopped at Camp Hancock State Historical Site and got a few pictures of buildings and a locomotive that was being restored.  It still had a lot of work left to do but I took pictures anyway.  Then up to the State Capital to get a few more pictures.

Dinner tonight was at Pizza Hut.

Our hotel for the night was a Best Western.

So we got a little of everything today.  The fun of finding a great railroad bridge, and seeing some albino Buffalo, and some very scary weather.

Yes when I went to Minot and Bismarck recently and there was tremendous weather, there were sights of tornado I thought we were in it, it was scary! and In Bismarck it was raining so much I went puddle jumping! Then just a week ago a guy from Saskatchewan Canada and his son were driving and got picked up by a tornado and were taken to Minot hospital.. the guy died and the son lived. I don't know what's up with North Dakota weather lately..

I noticed the big storms moving through North Dakota when you were there and wondered if you hit them. We also had big storms - but that afternoon. Close to 30 tornadoes across the state> Its good you left when you did!
