Not quite as far as planned.

We got a later start this morning than previous days and it was raining harder today than we had experienced previously. Well, not really, but the heavy rain lasted much longer each time and required every driver to slow down from the speed limit to a much safer, slower rate so we could see better. The day started out on what would be best described as a back road. Two lanes, through farming communities, and lower speed limits. It was nice to be off the freeways for a change. When we did get back on the freeway the spray from the trucks and cars in the heavy rain was like driving in the fog and my wipers had a hard time keeping the visibility good it was raining so hard. We also ran across many more work areas along the bridges. At one point the traffic was cut down to one lane for about three miles and then a crawl for nearly the whole time. We turned off the freeway and got onto another old highway that again ran through small communities and through lots of heavily wooded areas. Again, it was nice but slowed us down quite a bit.
We did get a chance to drive into Charleston, West Virginia and get a couple of shots of the State Capital and it's pretty dome. The rest of the shots today seemed to be bridges. :)
Dinner tonight was at a Shoneys, with a nice buffet and added a small steak for .99 cents.
We stayed the night at a new Fairfield Inn & Suites in Lewisburg, WV.
