Niagara Falls on a grey day.

We finally got back on the road again today and I thought I would give you just a glimpse of the very nice home where we have been staying.  It was built in 1900 and they have a copy of the drawing of the home in their dining room up on the wall, framed and under glass.  It is a very nice four bedroom home with a full attic above the bedrooms, and a full basement below the main floor.  So all together there are four floors and the details were not spared one bit on any part.  Just to give you a tease, I took a picture of one of the front door hinges and the pretty detail it had.  Also, a couple of pics of the house.  Very nice.  She has made a few changes and additions including updating the kitchen.

We went out to breakfast and then got on the road west towards Niagara Falls.

It was sprinkling as we left and the clouds covered the sky and were very threatening.  In fact it rained most of the day.

We got one pic at a rest stop of a historic New York sign about the Rochester area and then a couple of more as we started over the bridge on the island leading to the falls.

We stopped at the American side of the falls and went out to the observation deck and then down to the bottom to get more shots.  The weather was so grey we could hardly see a hundred yards in some places.  We got several pictures  before driving over into Canada and trying to get more shots.

On the Canadian side it was impossible for me to walk to where I could really see the falls and when Judy did manage to find a spot where she could, the spray and mist of the water nearly blocked the shots.  But at least we got to see it, even if the shots didn't turn out well.

We were supposed to meet up with a TB member in Toronto, but after a couple of tries from the US side we had driven over to the Canadian side and discovered after a little while that we had no service.  Bummer.  So we will drive on west tomorrow and back into the US around Lansing, Michigan.

We ate dinner at Jack Astor's Bar and Grill.  A nice Chicken Santorini which we shared.

We are staying at another Comfort Inn in Hamilton.

Great that they take care of the old house. Love the beautiful detail on the front door hinges. I guess I was lucky on my visit to the Niagara Falls, it was a warm and sunny day. The falls are breathtaking either way though!
