In southern Oregon we could see snow on the tops of the peaks to our west.

We enjoy seeing new parts of the states and country than we have seen before, as you probably can already tell by this trip we have just taken.  Today is no different. Coming south through Oregon we were taking a different route than we had ever taken before. Getting to see new scenery, new places.  We got some great views of the east side of the Sierra Nevada range across the plains area of Oregon. And we drove along for quite a while past lakes.

At one point as we were going slowly through a very small community, a deer decided to walk across the road right in front of us.  Luckily we were going only about 25 miles an hour and missed it easily, but I wondered how often in this area they had deer in their community in the middle of the day.

We were making our way to Reno to end the day, and it was a long days drive.  As  we got near we called to find a hotel room for the night.  Trouble!! Reno has events all summer long, and they fill up their hotels within fifty miles frequently.  This was one of those times. We ended up at the Best Western Airport Plaza.  We paid an arm and a leg, but did end up with a bed to sleep in.

Took the boys out to Sizzler tonight for a nice steak dinner.
