Camel Ranch
June 3, 2007
All in all the camel ranch was dissapointing. Garrett and I were looking forward to riding them, but our ride lasted less than 20 minutes and we spent half of that walking. Camels really aren't great to ride - their movements are awkward and jerk you around. Getting on and off of them is also a task. They sit and stand unevenly; on the way up, their back ends shoot up, leaving you leaning back for fear of falling off. On the way down their front drops suddenly, again leaving you clinging to their saddles.
They don't seem particularly friendly, they like to spit and kick.
The rest of the time there was alright. We slept in a tent, head a "word music" concert, and hung around. The music was okay, but the performers tried to ham it up too much and broke up the actual music playing (which was good) with silly skits and talking.
