On the way to Kyoto

I was standing on the platform and people started to arrive and they started to form queues to each carriage. The train arrived sharp on time and I was happy to take my seat and relax, I couldn't do that though because all my thoughts were with my mom. The train was fully packed and I had a seat near the window, I took out my camera and started making pictures. It was really lovely two and a half hours ride and I arrived at 6.50pm in Kyoto. It was already dark but I managed to take the right exit! Hooray for me for the first time.

I took out my printed out route map to Kyoto Plaza hotel and crossed the road. It was dark and slightly drizzling but I didn't want to take out my umbrella so I put on my hood instead and little Blue Riding Hood went on exploring streets of Kyoto with hand-made map.

.. I followed the crowd of businessmen in black suits for some time till I reached the end of the street and it became empty again... For a moment I felt a little scared - what if I get lost again and there is nobody there to ask? - but then I reassured myself that I'm on the right way, I have no idea where did I get it from... =) Anyway, after a short walk I saw the Shrine marked on my map and realized that I'm closer to the hotel than I thought I was. In a few minutes I was standing before friendly, beautifully English speaking receptionist at Kyoto Plaza Hotel! He gave me a complimentary bottle of water and the keys to my room, I think my room was on 9th floor. I went to my room, took a little rest and went on hunting down internet because I needed to write back home about my mother's departure and just take it out of my system.

I went down and found out that the hotel had two computers at the lobby with absolutely free internet access! Oh, I was so happy, it was so unreal after such a stressful day!

I was still full of worries since it would be only tomorrow morning when I would be able to find out if my mother was ok or what...

I was so tired and worn out that it was practically impossible for me to go out again to find some food or just to walk around. I decided to take some time and have a rest and just plan where to go tomorrow. I put on hotel's yukata and belt and turned TV on. Needless to say, all the programs were on Japanese but it was fun to watch. Suddenly I caught myself singing *Hava Nagila* inside my head. I was really surprised since there was no any indication of something Jewish around... I looked at myself and realized that the belt I was dressed in had some sort of Star of David pattern. Oh, man, that's what happens when your brain goes berserk! =)
