We flew Lan Airlines back to Lima but had to change planes in Guyaquill.  We arrived in Lima around 7:30 PM where I had arranged for my hotel to send a taxi driver to pick me up at the airport (pre-arranged taxis from Lima's airport to Miraflores cost US$15 or 45 soles, while regular green taxis cost US$30).  It's such a great feeling to see that taxi driver with a sign with my name on it just waiting for me.  He took us to our hotel, Hostal El Patio in Maraflores, two blocks from Parkay Kennedy. This was also a quaint spanish style hotel with an interior courtyard.  It had a nice homey feeling with its many plants and flowers and it's in a great location.  After dropping off our luggage and map in hand, we walked over to Parkay Kennedy to look at the many illuminated Peruvian artwork.  We then walked on Avenida Jose Larco to Larcomar Shopping area overlooking the ocean (10 minutes away).  We choose a nice restaurant with outdoor seating on the oceanside and had a very relaxing dinner with some pisco sours.  This complex is loaded with stores and restaurants and provide a lovely night atmosphere.  I felt much safer walking around Lima than I did in Quito.  We walked back to Parkay Kennedy.  There's an alley area right across from the Park which is loaded with restaurants.  We stopped in one of them where there was a salsa band performing.  We had another Pisco sour, listened to the band and watched some very good salsa dancers on the dance floor.
