"Mi Meninas" my rendition of the Diego Velazquez "Las Meninas" drawn onsite at El Museo Prado

While I like to take photographs, I also like to draw.  So while visiting Spain with my lovely, we toured the works of various Spanish artist and architects.

There are quite a view museums in Spain that are notable as well.  On this day, we toured the Prado to see the works of various artist

Velazquez had an incredible usage of light in his paintings.  He was the painter for the Spanish Royal Family during the mid 1600's.

I had made some sketches while reviewing the works of the Spanish artist.  This one was fun to recreate.  I added some of my own drawings on the walls of the room and also included some Picasso works.  Just writing about it makes me want to draw it again.

The original "Las Meninas" can be found in El Museo del Prado in Madrid, Spain.  The Prado is a must see for art enthusiasts.

Credit is owed to Velazquez for the inspiration of this piece.
