on the way to morro
to morro we went by boat from valenca, we went to morro just with little amount of luggage, the big part we left at the rodoviaria in valenca, so we planned just for one night or two, the boat to morro is amazing! you see all this different paradises passing by, sometimes far sometimes very close! and the arriving at morro really is exciting! the first feeling you get of this island is like the pirate island of pippi longstocking! (a sweedish kids movie of the 60 or 70, that everyone in europe saw as a child!) very cool, you just miss all the pirates with the ring shirts on! first we went to see the old fort, thats very close to the port, you walk a nice way along the sea! next to it there is rain forest! really cool! the fort is a complete ruin but you get the dimension and it is kind of romantic cause the forest overtook some parts of the ruin!
after we enjoyed the fort we headed to the main part of the island.

for that you have to return to the port and then climb a big road up, very steep! and then your in the "city center" there is a church and a small square, but charming, there are no real roads everything is covered by sand! the city is a bit similar to the city in itacare but a bit more touristic and less hippie! so we walked along the main road to the beach, in morro the beaches have no names just numbers, beach 1 and 2 are very crowded and 3 and 4 almost empty! so our goal was one of the last beaches. you have a relaxed feeling there but just couples are around and you get a bit the feeling of a resort (a very nice one though!), we made it to beach number 4 where there was no-one at all! so the sea was ours! the sea there is very different to every other i saw before, no waves and you have to walk for miles until the sea covers your size! so ideal to do nothing at all, just lying in the water and fade with the sea for hours, great! but a bit boring! so we decided that we are going to leaf the island the next day! but first we enjoyed the whole afternoon at the beach!
when it started to get dark we headed back to the center, you have to walk quite a bit up again to get there! there are plenty of stands around that sell jewelry and tourist stuff! when we made it up again we were all starving! so we had a look around for a cheap and good restaurant! we ended up in an italian one, we all didn't have pasta for months so that was nice for a change! the noodles were good, and in that place the had a big choice of "pingas"(the bahia version of cacha├ža!) so we tried a couple of them! later we got us some nice ice cream! we stayed at the center square where there was music playing and they had beautiful lightning! after that we went back to the port just for information about our next boat home! there was one at 6a.

m. so we had our challenge for tonight! finding a place on the beach to sleep! it was around midnight when we headed back to the beach, there was this very nice and expensive looking hotel right next to the beach, and they had this very comfortable looking beach chairs! and they were turned towards the sea and not towards the hotel, so we decided to sleep on them, well we were so nervous that there would come someone to throw us out, that we couldn't really sleep, but it comfortable! and the sky was clear and full of stars! wonderful, just a bit windy! once there came a dog that licked on my foot, i was very shocked! but we stayed there until about 4 a.m. then someone came and asked us in a very nice way if we could go somewhere else, of course we went! but it was already 4, so just2 more hours to go! we went to the beach where we hoped for a nice sunrise, well it was to cloudy to see the sun, but the sky got all these really nice and a bit "kitsch" colours!! very nice!
so we made the night, we got breakfast at a bar that was still open and then we headed towards the port!
