Waikiki Beach is not very wide, but has beautiful fine and soft sand. The beach is also very clean and you will also find public toilets and showers scattered along the oceanfront. Being in the main tourist area it is extremely busy and you feel like a sardine in a tin can. Never the less I like it.
Kuhio Beach is marked on its eastern end by Kapahulu Groin, a wall storm drain that juts out into the ocean. A low stone breakwater, called the Wall, runs out from Kapahulu Groin , parallel to the beach. This has formed an almost closed swimming pool. The water here is nice and warm and also calm, so it´s perfect if you are traveling with small children. However, because the circulation is limited, the water can get murky with a noticeable film of suntan oil.
