Day 3 of Australia Adventure - Sydney - April 19th 2010
Get up this morning and sort a little bit of my stuff and then proceed down to the lobby to have the included breakfast. For 5 dollars more I can have a hot breakfast to which I just take the complimentary one of toast and cereal which is quite filling.
I then after this decide to make this a random day and not really have much direction of what to do. So I just leave the hotel and choose a direction and walk. I make my way up the street and into the Kings Cross District of Sydney, which is basically the red light district of Sydney.
It is around 7am at this time and there are many people about in this area, including many people drinking beers at several outside pubs.
I then make my way around in some park areas along the water fronts for many more views of the downtown and harbour area. I enter this residential area of many rich homes in Darling Harbour area. Quite a fancy spot with many great homes, a place where you dont want to know the price value of these many homes. I also make my way to an area called Rose Bay which has a nice little beach and good park areas as well. I walk for many hours that morning and develop several blisters on my feet. But continue on as hard as I possibly can.
I walk over many hills and finally can see the Pacific Ocean in the distance to which I make my way towards.
By this time from walking all day, I think my shoes are at fault as my feet are badly blistered and I am limping like a rag doll at this point. I am at a point to which I can not walk anymore. I am in desperate need and decide I need to get back to hotel ASAP. I know i should have taken the bus back but I wanted some service and take a taxi and not care about the cost. It is amazing though with the taxi as the guy was driving with the gas tank almost empty, kinda funny.
Later that evening, I go and walk back down to the Opera House area and take in the sights at night. It is totally amazing again at night and you get a a different prospective of it all. I walk around and enjoy this stunning place. Then it is off for a budget dinner tonight and just grab some sandwiches from a local grocery store. I know I should be living like a king, but I have 4 more weeks of trip and just want to extend my budget as much as possible. I am about to just head back to hotel again as my feet are quite dead at this moment, so I decide I need to get off them. So off to bed and ready for my next Australia Adventure for the next day.
