What to do in Puerto Rico in the rain? Why go to the mall of course!
We planned to have our lazy beach morning this morning, but woke up to pouring, drenching rain. Plan B was to go to the internet cafe and update our blogs, but it was closed. Plan C was to take the bus to the Plaza de las Americas, the largest mall in the Caribbean and spend some time, get some lunch. We waited, and waited, and waited, and waited for the bus again....and this time it arrived. We were on the bus for awhile before we realized the route had changed and we needed to jump off and catch another bus. Apparently they changed all of the bus routes in 2008, but none of the maps, directories or signs have been updated. We were told to catch the 22, which was not listed on a single sign, but it did arrive and it did get us to the mall.
The Plaza de las Americas is a giant mall. No need to really go there unless it is pouring rain. They did have a DaVinci exhibit upstairs which was interesting and contained many of his inventions, journal entries and reproductions of his art. All of the signs and explanations were in Spanish so it was also good practice.
I am sore today after our long walk yesterday, so when we discovered that the internet cafe was open we decided to stop and update the blogs. We can start boarding our boat at 2, so once we finish here we will board the ship and be off across the Atlantic.
Not sure how much updating we will do over the next few days at sea, our first stop is the Canary Islands next weekend.
