At an internetcafe you can actually spent day and night. 9 hours is only 1500 Yen (12 Euro) and you get a private cubicle with a monster internet pc with every possible connection to remote media, headphones, dozens of installed games, a comfortable chair (that many people use to sleep on as I could hear from all the snorring last night), a toilet and shower, hundreds of magazines to read, thousands of manga's and hentai books...and most importantly free soup, juices, soda, coffee, tea and icecream. And for 200 or 300 Yen you can order a plate of rice or noodles with vegetables and meat. If someone would combine this with the capsule sauna hotel and some sunlight it might be what some young people would consider heaven on earth. Needless to say that I spent all night chatting, mailing and updating this blog and that it is now time to go to Nara and go low-tech for a week again :)
After spending 20 hours in the Kobe internetcafe (I arranged a special price with the owner) sending emails, chatting, blogging and just random browsing while eating icecream (closer to 10 than 5, but Charlie ones told me that if you don't pay for them, the calories don't count) it was dark outside again.
