Entertainment at The Shelter:
Fans of The Shelter will be enjoying industrial dance, EBM, and power noise Friday, April 16th starting at 9:00 pm with DAS BUNKER. Resident DJs, Atlanta’s own Aesthetic and Omac, and Special Guest DJs Andy LaPlegua and RevJohn. $10 Cover $1 drinks until midnight. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=110460955649100&index=1

Poetry reading:
Kostas Anagnopoulos will read at the Whitespace Gallery in Inman Park Friday, April 16th 8:00 pm. Anagnopoulos' latest work, Some of My Reasons, is forthcoming from Insurance. This event is free of charge. http://www.whitespace814.com/

Fight for Air Climb:
Up for some exercise for a good cause? Fight for Air Climb is being held at One Ninety One Peachtree Tower in downtown Atlanta to promote lung disease awareness Saturday, April 17th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Proceeds benefit the American Lung Association. The Climb is 50 stories or 1150 steps. Registration ends April 15th. The Highland Cup Bar Golf Tournament:
Prefer some all day craziness? The 7th Annual Highland Cup Bar Golf Tournament is being held in Virginia Highland from 1:30 pm to 9:00 pm Saturday, April 17th. Dress in golf attire and be prepared to ‘tee’ off at 2:30. The course involves 30 minutes in 9 different bars. Entry fees are $5. "Talking Back to the Muse":
Poetry Atlanta and Composition Gallery in Candler Park unite for a “Talking Back to the Muse” event, a signature event Saturday, April 17th, 8:00 pm, in which numerous local Atlanta poets will read. Dogwood Festival:
If you’re looking for good family fun, nothing is better than the the 74th Annual Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park. In addition to the beautiful & blooming outdoors, there will be an Artist Market, kids activities, a disk dog exhibition, music and many other events. Normally a dog friendly park, due to the expected volume of visitors dogs will be prohibited. Hours for the all weekend event are Friday 12:00pm to 9:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, Sunday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. http://www.dogwood.org/

Braves vs. The Rockies:
If you like to watch the activity, the Atlanta Braves are playing the Colorado Rockies all weekend long at Turner Field. Friday’s game starts at 7:35 pm, Saturday at 7:10 pm, and Sunday at 1:35 pm. http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/atl/ballpark/index.jsp
