Traumatic interstate driving right thru Cincinnati! Let's see... blinding thunderstorming, flooded exits with stalled cars, crazy high-speed drivers, road construction, multiple accidents including a tractor trailer rig thru a guardrail, and massive traffic. Ahhhh, the memory! But we survived.
Columbus afterward was a breeze by comparison.
Finally made it to a lovely Kindley Lake State Park off some back roads north of Columbus. Although they had tornadoes to the east and west of them last week, none are preumably scheduled for tonight.
We passed an Amish horse-drawn carriage on the way! Pulling Ciao to the side of the road, we trotted back across an intersection in a small town to buy a fresh apple pie from an Amish man sitting in a carriage.
Another Amish man sold us a basket that he had personally made. They both seemed polite, quiet, and spoke with a lilting accent that almost sounded Scottish to us.
This huge campground of almost 300 sites is nearly full this Saturday night, so we got just an electric site ($26) which is fine with us. They show a movie "Brother Bear" in a few minutes and the kids are angling to go see it. Since they finished the laundry and made dinner, I think they earned a night of fun.
