After escaping East Hartford and the action there (see the end of 8.2.10 blog for gory details), we had a terrific day.
Ciao got 6 new tires that dear Ned had arranged in Norwalk, CT at Hank Mays store. The tires were in, fresh and ready to go. Within a few minutes of our 10:30 am arrival, work commenced. All went well with my active involvement (I'm picky with my tires!) and by 3pm, we were driving down the road, happy as clams!
Just 12 miles south in Stamford is a delightful, warm, gracious, and lovely family friend, Dell K. She arranged for us to park and plug in at a house 2 down from her that has a wonderfully level driveway, huge trees, and is perfect. We jumped into the pool, Dell with clothes on! She is a riot and you cannot help but love her!
Grandpa Hill is here! He rode the train up with Jim, Dell's kind other half and Jack, their son, is here (he's 20) and we all just had a riotous good time. We got laundry done too!
In Dell's backyard, a hammock is strung, like a seat, from a rope tied 75 feet in the oak tree. You sit in the hammock on the hillside and swing low and far out on the tremendous swing. Laugh out loud fun!
So we're having a blast! Ciao is thrilled with her new shoes and we are thrilled to see Grandpa Hill and friends. Life is good!
