First day of our trip!

6.7.10 Home to Foretravel RV in Nacogdoches, TX

Around 12:30 pm, we left the most wonderful people of Elder’s Automotive after a final A/C check on Ciao and headed out.

Everything still undone, un-researched, un-planned is now… forward progress.  Let the weights of worry lift!

By 3:30 pm, we pulled into the most wonderful Class A motorcoach manufacturer in the world:  Foretravel!  Known throughout the RV world as top-of-the-line, half-million dollar (and up) rigs, Foretravel rigs are simply luscious.  In 2007, we begged our way into a private factory tour and have drooled over them ever since.

Our Lazy Daze friends, Virginia and Jim, have just purchased a Foretravel since they're fulltiming now and we got to admire it today- LOVELY.

While these massive rigs are not “adventure-mobiles” like Ciao Baby, they are luxurious and sophisticated… in other words, a whole different ball of delight.

But lest we forget how fortunate we are with Ciao, we last week studied car camping in Europe.  Ciao looks luxurious by comparison.

Just think:  comfy beds for everyone, an on-demand water pump, hot water, a separate shower, a kitchen with microwave, stove and oven, central heat with a digital thermostat- WOW!  How spoiled and lucky are we?!

So when start to feel inadequate or rig-envy, we compare down and remember how very fortunate we are to have Ciao Baby!

Gregarious Virginia knew everyone here at Camp Foretravel, where we were graciously invited to stay overnight with full hookups.  So Martha, Russell, and other new friends made the visit a delight!

While we only made it a few hours up the road, we did leave a day earlier than originally planned and spending time with friends made it special.

Charles, my IT guy, got Skype working via his computer and we talked awhile to Ned on a headset via our Verizon air card and router.  It is so nice when kids are old enough to help!

And so nice that my Nedtech got us all set up.  Love that man!

A great day to start a great trip!

Onward!
