so then we browse the internet how to get to lombok from bali, it say we can go there by plane from ngurah rai bali to mataram with price about IDR 300.000 -700.000 per person 1 way and takes about 30 minutes, or we can go by speedboat from benoa bali with price IDR 550.000 - 1.200.000 per person 1 way and takes about 1-2 hours, or you can take the ferrys like we do! its much cheaper! only IDR 31.000 per person 1 way! but.. it takes about 5 hours to go to lombok.. long enough.. so, just choose the transportations that suits you :)
so, here's my itinerary from bali to gili by ferry:
we're arrived at ngurah rai airport bali at 11PM, and still waiting for another friend with another flights, so we finally go from the airport to padang bai harbour at 1AM in the morning, it takes about 2 hours and we rent a toyota car with IDR 500.000 to the harbour.
at 3AM we arrived at padang bai harbour, ready to cross to lombok, but damn! the ferry just take off! so we're waiting another ferry for 90 minutes.
and finally at 4.00 the ferry comes and 4.30 ready to go..
we're kinda lucky because we're saving budget for 1 night hotels at the ferry, it's provide matress also :)
finally about 9.00AM we arrived at lembar harbour lombok, and we rent a car again about IDR 250.000 to go to bangsal harbour to cross to gili island, and it takes another 2 hours.. we're exhausted yeah.. but on the way there, you're gonna passing throuh a forrest with monkey across the street, you can tell the driver to stop and take some pictures with your ancestors if you like :p
okay, now we're arriving at bangsal harbour! purchase a boat ticket (IDR 10.000 / person to every gili island) and when the boat reach 25 people, you're ready to go!
the nearest and the smallest gili is Gili Air, the middle one is Gili Meno, and the last and the crowded one with tourist and hotels is Gili Trawangan. it takes 45 minutes by boat to gili trawangan. and when you're got there, phww, it's all worth it, the long and exhausting it's all worth it!!!
so this is photos of my journey on facebook :) feel free to take a look :)
