The ancient church
This time a hike through the landscape between Brodowin and Liepe shaped by the last ice age was scheduled.

The small location of Brodowin is situated in an area which’s dominated by large lakes, ground and terminal moraines along with loads of other different types of glacial shapes.

The ancient church in Brodowin was built of local boulders centuries ago and since the mid-1990s the village is an official centre for organic farming. The products from the local farm are certified by DEMETER the only ecological association that was able to build up a network of individual certification organisations all over the world.

Nowadays the nature around Brodowin and Liepe is dominated by farming, forestry and pastoral economy which are kind of different from the original vegetation and land use many hundred of years ago. Pollard willows are still some remains that stand for the historico-cultural aspect in this area.

Natural mires covered with alders offer habitats to countless species as well - we just need more of those pristine areas.

As we do highly enjoy idyllic hikes accompanied by the sound of cheerful birds and the wonderful impressions of wide nature this excursion was a quite nice one, no doubt.
