Breakfast was done by Ali this morning and it was terrible, yucky white cheese, boiled eggs, bitter tea and bread. Maybe I should go down the road and get an English Breakfast! Our ride to Olundeniz was coming to pick us up at 10am so we had a bit of time to relax beforehand. It was cloudy and we had some rain early in the morning so I hope that was the last of it. It wasn’t particularly warm so I doubt we would be getting in the water today! I sat out by the pool while we waited and Zehra went and had a look at the chooks. She wanted me to come look at the eggs so I went around to have a look. One chicken was very chatty so I called it Zehra, Ali found it amusing anyway! Our lift arrived and we were taken down to Olundeniz, there were quite a few people on the boat, many of them young, they seem to all know each other so I guessed they were a tour group. The boat was a timber boat and had two decks, the top deck had foam mattresses and foam bench seating, the bottom deck had bench seating and tables. We set off and after 45 minutes our first stop was butterfly bay. Getting off the boat was a challenge, the ramp was at least a couple of feet from the beach and the water was deep so we got somewhat wet when we got off. The beach was pebbles and backed by vegetation with cliffs and a valley cut into it. It was a lovely setting. We had an hour here and swimming wasn’t an option as it was too cold so we decided to check out the waterfall in the valley. A small tree house like accommodation sat behind the beach so after making use of their facilities we headed off in the general direction of the waterfall. It cost us 5 Lira, nothing is free here I’ve discovered! The walk was through an open garden area where they seem to be growing vegetables, probably for the restaurant back at the accommodation. The track followed the gorge and it was about 20 minutes before we neared the waterfall, the last bit was rock scrambling but we got up there. The waterfall wasn’t spectacular it was small and ambled its way down the gorge, the setting and the colours of the rock was lovely. We had half an hour left so we headed back to the boat. As I got back on the boat I climbed the steps to the top deck and as I stepped onto the top deck it must of been wet and slippy and on my arse I went! Everyone was concerned I had injured myself, I just told them if your going to land on your butt then at least have an audience!!
We cruised more, the sun was nice but the wind was chilly especially when it disappeared behind the clouds! Our next stop was St Nicholas Island, it was a very small Island with some church ruins, they wanted 8 Lira’s to see it! We gave it a miss in fact only the Turkish couple got off everyone else stayed on board.
