What a beautiful morning! The sea is calmer this morning, but it still provides good sounds to wake up to. We shall have to see if our boat will be able to make it out there for our cruise tonight. We are just about to leave for our first breakfast.
We had a great breakfast of coffee, orange juice, and focaccia bread. I drank Lindy’s coffee so I was extra caffeinated. After breakfast we spent some time doing much needed laundry. After laundry was done we headed by foot trail to Monterosso. The trail took about 2 hours and was quite the hike. We took lots of pictures of the great scenery. We also ran into a former KSU student! During the hike we bougth fresh lemonande and lemonchello from a farmer on the cliffside. Some of the best lemonchello I have ever had. We finished the journey and had a great time going around the town. We even swam for a bit in the Mediterranean Sea! It was a bit cold, but fun anyway! After swimming we lounged around and looked at shops. We stopped for ice cream and more focaccia bread during the day. A few hours before sunset we went to meet our boat. After waiting for a few hours, the owner told us that the weather was not good enough and that the trip would have to be cancelled. We hopped on a train back to Vernazza, and back to our favorite restaurant here. We both had pesto and pasta for first course and split a veal cooked in wine for a second course. After a wonderful day we spent the evening in our room watching the sun set! Vernazza is amazing! Tomorrow we will visit more villages and try the boat again. Ciao!
So to start off we were supposed to go on our dinner cruise this evening but the waters were too rough so we didn’t make it, we are going to try again tomorrow!
We slept in this morning and had a breakfast of focaccia bread and juice. We then did some laundry because we were wearing clothes we washed in the shower! We ate an old piece of pizza for lunch and decided to hike to Monterosso. It was 3 km hike that took about 2 hours but it had really good views but was exhausting! We stopped along the way and purchased fresh lemonade and lemonchello from a farmer. Once in Monterosso we headed to the beach. The water is really pretty but the beach was pretty rocky and hurt our feet so we didn’t last long in the water L It wasn’t very cold either which was nice. We also roamed around the town, I liked Vernazza way better. Montorosso allows cars where Vernazza doesn’t. J We then waited around for our tour, found out it wasn’t happening, and headed back to Vernazza and ate dinner at the same place. We had pesto and then veal with wine sauce.
