entering town, did not have camera ready or good view for front shot :(
So far this is the best day maybe as far as tranquil site seeing goes. If i ever go again i will stay the night, so i can take in a nice dinner after a day of walking around and enjoy the evening properly. Thus not having a long drive back home after a tiring day, just a nice chill evening and leave when fresh in the A.M. :) It was a bit of a boring drive to get there and many many toll booths, we must have went through 1 per 30 minutes atleast(no joke) but the roads are nice for the most part , so guess they have to pay for the roads somehow. It was a great sunny day for an excursion, total drive time about 2hrs 30 min from downtown Morelia(depends on speed, toll lines, etc). We arrived around 1:30 or so and found a parking garage down in the tunnel and took the steps up into town.
I loved the colorful buildings in the town as well as up the hillsides, and the architecture was cool. I shopped for T-shirts , but could not find the right one that was also in my size. As usual I would find a great shirt but they didnt have my size or it was only in white(turns yellow in places with time) so I opted to save my $10USD as i have too many t-shirts anyways. I wish they had had a cut off or tank top, but no dice(no luck). I bought a grey bandana for future travels(neutral to clothes i usually take with) and as usual for my latin america/asian trips. I also purchased some bootleg Dvds. Not as cheap as jakarta, but 17 movies for about $20 usd works for me(turns out maybe 13 of them were great quality, 3-4 not so good or terrible).
As usual u have to be careful of new releases and ask if they have been copied or are from a theatre recording(with handheld camera). We checked out many nooks and crannies and shops and such, I wore flip flops which worked just fine, sure my feet were tired after the day but they also got some more sun :) so it was worth the soreness. I was the tourist, so luckily my friends were patient with my shirt and dvd shopping. We were a bit tired and had seen most of the sites, so we grabbed our car and first before leaving town we stopped at a little mall(new construction) and had a bite at Micky D's(mcdonalds) and looked around at a shop or two, before heading out again for home. I got dropped off about 8:45 pm, all the driving and walking around in the sun proved tiring, and it was soon nighty night time :)
Oh Ya, by the way I love the architecture inside and outside of churches and cathedrals, so seeing this church was really cool for me , loved it! There was a wedding going on inside , but the outside was good enough for me for sure:) A FRIGGIN YELLOW CHURCH/CATHEDRAL!! AWESOME! ;)
