I had such a good day today :-) After a good nights sleep I got up at around 7am and had my morning coffee and packed my bag ready for the day. I made my way down Queen St, taking about a million pictures at the same time, to Britomart Staion where I paid for my Day Tripper ticket. I decided to go to Devonport that morning - I fell in love with this part of Auckland as soon as I got off the ferry - if I could live here I would! It was about a 10 min ride from Auckland ove the Waitemata harbour, the weather was gorgeous so I took the walk up the the North head and down around Cheltnham beach. It took about an hour but all in total I was there for about 3 hours - you could easily spend a whole morning or afternoon here.
After getting the ferry back to Auckland, I decided to got to Cornwell park and One Tree Hill. Cornwell park has the most beautiful trees, huge and richley green in coulur, this is where I had my first encounter with a sheep in New Zealand, one of about 400 that are farmed for prime lamb production. I then made my way to the base of one tree hill and decided then and there that I wan not going to climb to the top - I was tired enough allready! Intead I had an ice-cream.
From Cornwell park I make my way back to the city and decided to get a bus to Mission bay. What a trendy seaside suburb this is - it sort of reminds me of St. Kilda in Melbourne. For a Sunday, the beach was packed and you should have seen the line outside of Movenpick ice-creamery - and the size of the cones - HUGE!!
This is where I ended my day as it was getting late so back to the hotel it was!
