Finally getting wet!

Obviously the thing to do in Dahab is to dive , everyone does it , even the ones that claim they won`t ! There`s about 60 dive centres in Dahab, one every 10 meters or so in the main street. We joined up with one called "sea dancer" with a jolly brittish guy called Steve in charge. They seem to be a nice bunch of diver , taking proper care about safety, and having small groups of diver(3-4) , unlike the crazy group of 18 japanese divers we met at one of the dives..
The first day of diving we got up super-early at 07.00 to go diving before anyone else, so we would be able to enjoy tranquil waters ! Unfortunately it seems everyone else in Dahab had the same idea, as I have hardly ever seen more divers in one spot before.
Torunn did her advanced open water diver certificate so we got to do a nice variety of dives. The night dive was done right outside the promenade in Dahab on a moonlight evening. At this spot there is something as amazing as a partly domesticated lion fish that they call Edgar. He followed us on the whole distance of the dive, and then when opportunity strikes he uses the light from our dive torches to catch his prey, as some of the small fish get disoriented from the light. The instructor was signalling everyone to come over to look at something he had his torch on. When we gathered around there was nothing really interesting, just a small confused fish...then after about 30 seconds Edgar came swooshing into the light and ate the fish..
A morbid form of entertainment, but entertaining nonetheless.
Dahab has improved since last time we were here, this time we can get beer just about everywhere(although still not on any of the menues) !
The Egyptian beer leaves much to be desired unfortunately....there is "Luxor" that is basically one of the worst beers ever, and then there is "Stella" which basically tastes like water with a drop of beer essence....and our favorite is the Heineken sponsored " Sakara" which actually taste like beer.
