Pfff, what a night… I’ve slept very well, although my two neighbors (Erwin and Astrid) were snoring… And my bed was in the middle!! But I guess when you’re tired and the first at sleep it doesn’t matter.

Okay, time to open the curtains and greet the sun… Uhm… what? Snow?? In May??? What the…! :D I did a quick thank to the Lord and waked up Astrid and Erwin because there was no time to waste! We had a good breakfast and got as quick as we could the slopes. Eline joined us at this real first day. Oh men, the new snow (about 40 cm) was perfect! And the whole Ski area was opened! So we took the gondola and got upstairs. Arrived at the ‘Point Du Caran’, there was no sight because of the clouds… I guess Johan Cruyff was right… ‘Every sheer of luck has its loss and otherwise’. The snow was perfect, but the possibility to ski was not so perfect.

I could see the tips of my skis but that was it! So you’ve got to be careful what you pray for. We could only hope that the snowing continued to have good conditions for the rest of the week but the clouds would rise so the sight would improve.

At 15:00 we were tired of the difficult conditions and went to the 360 Bar and had a beer… or two…

In the evening we explored the nightlife of ValTho. The Malaysia Bar and the Veronica Bar were our favorites. They played (of course) Dutch songs which even non-Dutch could sing along with (lalalalala).

The nice thing of the Dutch Snow Week is that you can order in your mother tongue… because I can order in French… but after a few hours not anymore… so it’s nice you just can say ‘4 bier aub!’
