A Helping Hand

I enlisted the help of a fellow buddy of mine who just got off on her Spring Break. Priscilla Gee, you're the best!
Seeing as how I woke up massively late to get to my next interview, I rushed quickly to get all of my equipment together. My next interview was with a guy named Jordan White who was part of the Racebending coalition organized by some really good friends of mine. For those of you who aren't familiar with Racebending.com, it's a group that focuses their efforts to stop the white washing of actors in Hollywood. Some example in films include 21, Dragonball Evolution, The Last Airbender, and The Weapon.
I got a chance to catch up with some of my Secret Identities buddies while I was in town, and there was definitely talk of a Volume 2. Definitely looking forward to hearing more about it, but overall... it was just great to catch up and hear some of their ideas. Jerry Ma even drew me a quick sketch in 10 minutes! Crazy!
Overall, I had a great time. Priscilla and her friends, May and Mayabi, were definitely good company and gracious hosts. After lunch, we all hit up Times Square. I kept complaining about where all the time went. You forget you're in the East Coast sometimes, because it seemed like only a few hours went by... but it was already 7pm and pitch black! We hit up the New Yorker and met up with Jen Kwok and Air Tabigue, two extraordinarly talented comedians whom I truly admire.
Around 9pm or so, I met up with Choz Belen... a music video director that I hold in the highest respect. I've been trying to lock down an appointment with him all year after he did Deep Foundation's video, and then he comes out with a crazy new animated video from Far East Movement's "I Party." I had the chance to talk to him and get him to reveal some of his trade secrets. I've had a script in mind that I've been meaning to get some animated work done on, so Choz might be the guy.... stay tuned for that!
This has definitely been one of the most productive days out of the trip. I don't even think I got any time to rest or sit down! Anyway, that's it for the East Coast tour. Tomorrow, I got an afternoon flight to catch right back to LA. It's been fun! Gotta come back!
