Cliffs of Moher
I arrived in Galway on a wonderful sunny evening. And the evenings in Ireland are quite sunny, it doesn't get dark until 11pm, which causes me a great amount of confusion expecially since my watch stopped working :( Anyway, I meet a couple of American girls while checking into my hostel, who couldn't believe I was from Vegas because they thought I talked with an accent? Anyway, we went out together for dinner. I ate some sting ray. It was different, a bit bland honestly. Then we ended up in a pub with some wonderful live Irish music and, of course, guinness! We made lots of Irish friends there and went over to an after hours pub that was open until 2am. When that closed my new Irish friends wanted to take me gambling.

They were telling me, "oh let's take the girl from vegas gambling, she'll win us lots of money!". I tried to warn them that they would be sadly disappointed as I don't even gamble. But I agreed and we went. It was in a house that was unmarked, you'd never know people gambled there all night from the looks of the outside. We had to knock, and a huge man answered the door and let us in. The place was small, people were just playing in the living room. You had your choice of roulette, blackjack, or poker. The place was filled with pictures of the glamorous Las Vegas strip!! hahaha. Unfortunately Ireland is dry at 2am and we couldn't drink :( I played some blackjack and would have won 45 euros if I was smart enough to know when to stop playing.
When we left the place the sun was already coming up, but that wasn't going to put us to bed. We had a little party at someone's place and drank wine and then walked around by the sea until finally I left at 8:15am because I had to catch a bus south to the cliffs of Moher at 9:30am. Well see, then what happened was..... I passed out on the bus and sometime later it stopped and people were getting off. I was slightly disoriented and probably still drunk so I got off also. Then the bus took off again and I realized that I was not where I had intended to be. So, guess it's time to start walking!! I walked for awhile and then saw a sign for the Aillwee caves, which I had read about in my research of Ireland, so I decided to go check it out. They where quit nice, there was a big waterfall underground that was definitely worth seeing.

Then I hitched a ride from the caves to the town I was staying in that night, Lisdoonvarna. The lady that picked me up was very nice, and we talked about our solo travels :) I took a nap at the hostel and then rented a bike and rode over an hour to the spectactular Cliffs of Moher! I got a little lost on the way back to the hostel (big surprise), but it was great because it's really really pretty country over there. And the sun was setting so it was a good time/place to get lost :) That night in the hostel I attempted for the first time to do my laundry in the sink. What a pain in the ass that is!!! So I figured that the clothes would dry overnight, no big deal right? wrong. By morning they weren't even close to dry and I had to spend 3 euros to use the dryer in the hostel :( boo. But I had to catch a bus to Northern Ireland, so what can you do?
