Getting ready for Beijing

I am trying to get ready for China and tying up some loose ends. I've tried to learn some lessons: I was told to stay away from Hot Dogs as there might be a little puppy in the roll, and cab drivers shall put on the meter. Don't drink water from the tab and bring along your own chop sticks. Chicken feet are kinda chinese fries and won't do any harm, but don't eat the scorpion when it's still moving. Wow, this country really sounds interesting :S
