The Wadi El Kabir or big valley was the place where I had my night 'rest'. First of all I couldn't sleep because of the beauty of the sky, counting stars is impossible! Anyway that was a luxury problem in a place without any luxury at all, lol. Anyhow, in the middle of the night I felt something crawling over my sleeping bag! So wtf was happening?! The stars gave some light but I could only see the silhouet of an animal like a dog or a cat, or something in between. The fact you don't see it makes you not being sure about in which situation you are into. At a sudden moment it was licking and sniffing at my fingers , very creepy in the middle of the night! Afterwards I heard some 'probably jackals' hawling in the distance, like they were communicating!!! I decided in my inner self not to make a move in order not to scare it or 'it' might attack! lol.
This day I'd walk from the old white desert to the new white desert or was it the other way round? Started to lose track of time, who needs that, the sun tells you plenty!, lol. Anyway no Fata Morgana's it wasn't that bad...But you'll start to get my drift when you look to the pictures, unreal landscapes with stones with the most unreal shapes like faces, horses, mushrooms, rabbits, and I could go on and on....In the late afternoon I saw a little desert fox, was happy to see it so know I really know what my visit looks like! After the camp fire and some strong tea with my Egyptian homies I (again) had a quest for my sleeping spot!! darkness, sand and stone, orientation disrupted , lol.
