I went to Vortex Springs for the weekend with a bunch of friends && it was amazing!!! Slept in tents, froze in twenty degree weather, played with fire, taunted some crazy guy who lived near our campsite, && went exploring on the crazy guys land [although we didn't realize it until we saw these two creepy kids following us for about an hour or so]. Vortex was just sooo pretty! The water was crystal clear, and there were dozens of koi fish! It was beyond beautiful! And to be back to my roots was even greater! I grew up camping && fishing && scouting so to get out there and do it again after so long was extremly refreshing. The owner of Vortex Springs came up to us on Saturday and warned us about Walt, the crazy guy who lives near the place where we were camping [we weren't really supposed to be camping right there lol], he said that he's been known to shoot at people a lot, and that if we stay there we need to be really careful.
To the owners annoyance we all found that kinda funny, but promised to be careful [right, a bunch of 18-25 year olds being careful in the woods lol]. But that became the joke for the rest of the trip. Anytime we heard a noise, someone would yell "Watch out! It's probably Walt!" It was hilarious! Then on Sunday, we went exploring through the swampy creek for a while, jumping from marshy island to marshy island, falling in mud, splashing in the freezing cold creek water. Little did we know we were on Walts land..., but once we reallized that we were, we hauled ass outta there! Over all it was the best 20$ I'd spent all year :)
