My sister Gloria.
So today we'll do a little shopping and sight seeing. But first, Gloria needs to make us Bloody Marys . . . to get our day off to a good start.

The hotel is expensive, but I always like to eat once at West Egg. It's not my usual style of breakfast, and they are always so busy, but it's well run and the food is good and inexpensive. We're only a few blocks away, and of course we need to decide on another game plan. (ha ha) Breakfast is yummy, it come quick and hot, and there is no pressure to hurry up if you want to eat and talk a bit.

After some window shopping, a passer by suggests we go the Museum of Contemporary Art, and I know it is only a block away from where we are. Great idea! And the lady in the gift shop helped us out with a membership.

Admission is $12 and there are 3 of us; but if we by a one year membership at $30, she'll give us 2 free passes! SOLD! It was money well spent, and now I can go again if I have a chance.

Konnie wants a designer purse, but at street corner prices. We are on a mission, and that's all she can think of all day . . . I want that purse. . . I want that purse . . . I want that purse . . .  Guess what! We find it! Just about when we're ready to give up, Konnie asks a valet near where she last saw the purse lady. They tell her she's on different corners some nights and give us directions. Konnie was so happy to have found the purse she wanted! Mission accomplished.

We go back to the hotel to get ready for a night out. Tonight there are fireworks at the river and we want to be sure to get there before they start.
Gloria, she's cool like that!

The fireworks are AWESOME. They are gicing out 3-D glasses and everyone looks so funny! When you look at the street lights there are smiley faes around the light . . . oh, oh, . . . smiley faces and fireworks . . . this should be good! AND IT IS! I am keeping those glasses, because someday I will have them with me when I see fireworks! The foreworks look like coloured fountains of smiley faces!! I try to take a picture with the glasses over my lens but it doesn't work. It woold of been cool to be able to post a picture of it!

We have dinner at Rosebud on Rush where I have eaten before. But we are dissapointed, service is poor and our surprisingly waitress neglectful. For a spurge meal, it was not money well spent. I wished we had gone somewhere else and remember there was another restaurant we had spotted the night before but had forgotten when it was time for dinner. Oh well, I'll know better next time.

It turned out to be a great day, wonderful weekend and another successful girl trip!
